Americans for
Common Sense
on Cuba
Common Sense for the Common Good
ASCS is...
A voluntary association of individuals banding together to organize resources and political will sufficient to overturn the U.S. blockade on Cuba, as well as all the executive branch actions that harm the peoples of both our countries.
We represent many sectors of the U.S. business community, including:
Agriculture
Pharmaceuticals
Trade Work
Banking & Finance
Medical Equipment
& Devices
Faith Communities
Travel & Hospitality
Universities & Academics
We also represent everyday Americans who would like to travel on vacations where they please.
We strongly oppose our government’s policy regarding Cuba, and while we are filled with moral apprehension over its effects on the families of Cuba, we are also suffering harm ourselves. It burdens us as taxpayers—we pay for the “embargo gravy train” of government and private agencies that perpetuate it. It blocks our freedom to travel, and slams the door on our ability to sell our wares and services.
For 65 years our government has caused suffering among ordinary Cubans and has harmed our own ability to live life and conduct business. Most Americans are not informed on how these policies effect them, or even that these policies exist.
To change that, our organization provides information and education, while members build a campaign and advocate for policy changes as it effects them.
